Evidence.
The four of us live in Missouri, sometimes called, "The Show-Me State." It's said that Missourians want to be shown, want visual proof, want solid evidence because we "don't believe it 'till we see it."
I don't think this is unique to our Mid Western location, rather an innate desire put in most human hearts throughout the world and throughout time. Our Creator did not make us unthinking and un-analytical. On the contrary, He created in many of us a need to lay out the facts and process through them, drawing logical conclusions.
Yet at the same time, it is written that faith believes in what it can NOT see. What a blessing it is for those who have no problems believing in spiritual things without being shown irrefutable proof!
Does this mean that those who have a desire for evidence are out of luck? Or that there IS no evidence of a Creator to be seen? Of course not. Creation itself speaks of its Creator. The composer, Haydn, in his famous oratorio, sets this well-known text: The Heavens are telling the glory of God!
Ashlee, Jacqueline, Julie, and I believe there is even more evidence to be seen by all: the love of God's children for each other. Our hearts are united in a common goal to love God and love people. One way we are able to do that is through singing. As we prepare for our upcoming concert event next week, we seek to touch others deep down to their very souls with our voices, with our songs, with our words, with our spirits. Each of us can testify as witnesses to the irrefutable proof of God's love for us, as we are each evidence of His grace.
So, come on, Missourians. We're ready to show you!
